“The color associated with the sattvic
guna is white. To dress with the angelic quality is the practice of
satamber. It is a very old system. I do not know how far it is true or
not true. Only three types of cloth for clothes were suggested: cotton,
silk or wool. Always light or white. The hair was understood and
respected. You would not expose your hair to the sun, because this solar
center, at the crown of the head, is naturally covered by the hair for a
purpose. These are things which affect you and which they sensed. I’m not
telling you something you have to do. I am just explaining some habits of
sensitive sattvic traditions.” –Yogi Bhajan, The Mind, p. 31
“With the Guru’s grace, in past
incarnations you earned this life. You earned this human body. It is
prepaid and pre-earned. Everything in this life is given to you as if it
is. You have earned it with your devotion, with your meditation, and with
your good deeds. So be content. Some people are bald, some people have
thick hair. Some people are short, some people are seven feet tall. First
your destiny was decided, then body was given accordingly. Why do the
angels long for this body? Because an angel has to have a human body in
order to liberate itself. This body is a qualifying factor. With this
body, you have the choice to serve God’s universe. You can become a little
more angelic, a little less animal each day, each thought.” —Yogi Bhajan,
The Mind, p. 35.
